BECE Past Questions (the "App") is provided by ZeilaTech ("we", "us", "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Scope

This privacy policy applies to all users of the BECE Past Questions mobile application and related services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

Account information: When you register via email/password or Google Sign-In, we collect your email address and display name.
Support requests: Any information you provide when contacting us for help.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Device information: Device model, operating system version, and device identifiers.
Usage data: App interactions, study sessions, quiz scores, and general activity within the app, collected via Firebase Analytics.
Crash logs and performance data: Collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help diagnose issues and improve stability.

2.3 Information from third parties

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from your Google account. We do not access your Google contacts, calendar, or any other data.

3. How We Use Information

To provide and maintain app features, including personalized study progress.
To authenticate your account and sync your progress across devices.
To improve app performance, stability, and user experience.
To display advertisements through Google AdMob.
To communicate important updates and provide support.
To comply with legal requirements.

4. Advertising

The App displays ads through Google AdMob. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your device settings and applicable regulations. For users under 18, we request non-personalized ads in compliance with Google's policies for teen-directed content.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Firebase Authentication — Account management and sign-in
Firebase Analytics — Anonymous usage analytics
Firebase Crashlytics — Crash reporting and diagnostics
Google AdMob — Advertisement display

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is only processed by the third-party services listed above (Firebase, AdMob) as required to operate the App.

7. Teen Users

The App is primarily designed for Junior High School (JHS) students preparing for BECE exams, typically aged 13–17. We take the following steps to protect teen users:

We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the service.
We request non-personalized ads for users we identify as minors.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided information without parental consent, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete the information promptly.

8. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud) servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS), Firebase security rules, and restricted access controls.

Your data may be stored or processed outside Ghana on servers operated by Google. We take steps to ensure your data remains protected in accordance with Ghana's Data Protection Act (Act 843).

9. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or security reasons.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we store about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Request information about how your data is processed.
Opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.
